Symptom: There is a metal friction sound
Phenomenon: The exhaust emits black smoke, the power drops, and the
supercharger has abnormal noise.
Cause:
1. If there is a metal friction sound, it is caused by excessive
wear of the supercharger rotor bearing or thrust bearing, and the
friction between the impeller and the supercharger shell.
2. If it is not a metal friction sound, but an air flow sound, it
is due to the rotation sound generated by the high-speed rotation
of the supercharger rotor, or the air leakage phenomenon caused by
poor connection at the intake and exhaust interfaces.
Treatment:
(1) The former should be repaired by replacing the damaged spare
parts according to the wear situation.
2. The latter should be carefully distinguished and addressed in a
targeted manner.
Bearing damage
Phenomenon: the supercharger bearing is damaged, the engine power
drops, the oil consumption is high, black smoke is emitted, and the
supercharger cannot work in severe cases.
Cause:
1. Lubriing oil pressure and flow are insufficient.
Insufficient supply of lubriing oil to the supercharger journal and
thrust bearing;
b. Insufficient lubriing oil to keep the rotor journal and bearings
afloat;
c. The booster is running at high speed and the lubriing oil is not
supplied in time.
2. Debris or sediment enters the lubriion system.
3. Oxidative deterioration of engine oil.
a. Diesel engine oil is overheated, and too much gas escapes
between the piston and the cylinder wall;
b. Cooling water leaks into the oil;
c. Improper selection of oil, and failure to change oil regularly
as required.
Treatment:
1. Check whether the lubriing oil pressure is normal and whether
the amount of oil meets the requirements.
2. According to the requirements of the regulations, replace the
lubriing oil regularly and ensure that the lubriing oil is clean.
3. In strict accordance with the requirements of the regulations,
the use of lubriing oil, not mixed.
4. The engine should be avoided from working under high temperature
conditions and maintain the normal working temperature of the
engine.
